I’m a queer radically inclusive neurodivergent esthetician with over 12 years of experience in my field. [ Instagram @phoenixesthetics ]All my services are treated as gender affirming care for all clients – yes that includes my cis clients, too! Specialties include corrective brow services (i.e. brow waxing, lamination, tinting), face waxing (everything from the neck up), healing gua sha facial massages, personal makeup lessons, custom skincare consultations, and lash lifting and tinting. I’m also the first esthetician in the United States to offer Angel Treatments, as far as I’m aware. If you’re wondering what Angel Treatments are, look up Angel Shots or the Ask for Angela Code. Those are bar/restaurant services that inspired me to create my own version. As a long-time survivor of DV and SA, I’m uniquely equipped with the background and experience to handle certain situations and connect them with the legal and protective resources they need. Multiple people have booked Angel Treatments and all of them are now safe and secure, and pursuing healthier, happier lives. If that’s what you need, it’s totally free – just contact me ahead of time so I can make proper arrangements. All my services are based on a personal background of unsupported survival, which is why community outreach and unashamed humanity are so important to me. From an esthetics standpoint, I’m also a sensitive-skinned person with multiple conditions and invisible disabilities. I know it can be scary or uncomfortable to be so vulnerable in front of a total stranger. That’s why I started my business in the first place. Long, LONG before I was in esthetician, as a little kid I taught myself the same lymphatic drainage techniques that I would later incorporate into my facial gua sha services in order to help my mother and sister who both had lymphedema. I taught myself how to care for my own dermatitis, eczema, cystic acne, and trichotillomania. And I did it alone in the pre-Youtube/pre-Tiktok era. Shudder. I wouldn’t wish that on anybody. So rest assured, when you come to see me, it’s like you’re chatting with your esthetician bestie. You’re seen, you’re valid, and I want you to feel as secure and comfortable as possible. As for the makeup lessons, those cover most techniques and subjects from super simple tricks that enhance the features you love most, to full-blown drag stage artistry. My skincare consultations range from bare minimum low-demand healthy basics, to in-depth home treatments that help you reduce the need for future invasive treatments. (Spoiler alert: sunscreen is your best friend regardless of your skin color.) All lessons and consultations are formatted as telehealth appointments on my website so that my clients can see me from the safety of their own space if preferred, but of course I accommodate in-person appointments as well. My studio is custom designed and created by me – with the help of a few lovely community members and allies – to be as accessible as possible. Ever gotten your brows done in a massage chair before? Well, you will now! Unless it’s over-stimulating, which is also why you won’t find any fluorescent lighting in my space whatsoever. I have clients with PCOS, lupus, cancer, epilepsy, tourettes, you name it. All of them have found options that help them have the best quality of life possible for their skin, brows, and lashes. If I’m not familiar with a condition you have which is hindering you from creating a skin you’re comfortable in, I will go out of my way to learn as much as I can about it or else refer you to an inclusive specialist who knows more than I do. This is also a secure location with 24/7 on site security and private parking just a few feet from the doors. No more walking alone to your car in the dark. No more trekking up multiple flights of stairs. No more fighting for curbside parking or paying the meter. This is your home away from home and I want it to feel that way. Everyone is welcome regardless of race, religion, gender, orientation, ability, or class. Full disclosure: the one thing I don’t offer is a public bathroom, but there are multiple options within 5 minutes of my location. I’m also in close contact with other practitioners and providers in the area, especially queer and POC colleagues, so if I don’t offer something you’re looking for, contact me anyway and I’ll do my best to refer you to someone I trust. No, I don’t get any kickback for it. I just feel it’s the right thing to do. Feel free to also contact me with any other questions or inquiries you may have. I’m a team of 1 person doing 8 jobs, but I’ll always do my best to get back to you as soon as possible. Stay safe, and see you soon!
