I am a nerdy, multiracial, BIPOC, gay, primarily masculine identifying genderqueer, polyamorous, kinky, neurodivergent, therapist with 15 years in recovery from addiction and 14 years’ experience in various forms of professional mental health.
I work within several communities in which I also share identity, all of which have significant levels of overlap. I works with geeks, nerds, dorks, and dweebs, LGBTQIA folx, members of the Kink community, ethical non-monogamists of all varieties, and minority cultures and spiritualities.
Using my knowledge of psychology and counseling and my life experience of being a big, gay, black, nerd, it is my purpose to bring healing and care to often-misunderstood populations. I absolutely adore combining my passions and hobbies into my profession. My first special interests were Star Wars and The Lord of the Rings. I have a deep adoration for the Alien, Firefly, Call of Cthulhu, Cowboy Bebop, and Code Geass universes. I play so many video games it would be impossible to list them all and I have an extensive collection of sci-fi and fantasy novels, comic books, board games, and tabletop games. I have been playing tabletop roleplaying games (like Dungeons and Dragons) for well over 20 years and I have 15 years of experience as a Dungeon or Game Master.
I am a specialist in the burgeoning therapeutic modality known as Geek Therapy (Yes! It’s real!) which seeks to utilize the passion and purpose that people get from participating in various mediums of Geek Culture to help promote healing and growth. I am also an educator, professional game master, content creator, and group facilitator. When I’m not working, playing, or resting, I travel around the world, speaking on these topics that I love so dearly!
