I am a Licensed Independent Social Worker at Mid-Ohio Counseling, LLC, providing affirming, trauma-informed psychotherapy to LGBTQ+ individuals across Ohio. I am committed to creating a safe, respectful, and empowering therapeutic space for people of all sexual orientations, gender identities, and gender expressions. My approach centers on cultural humility, collaboration, and honoring each client’s lived experience. I work from the belief that LGBTQ+ identities are not problems to be fixed, but strengths that deserve affirmation, safety, and support.
I have experience supporting LGBTQ+ clients with challenges including anxiety, depression, trauma, minority stress, identity exploration, coming out, complex family and relationships, religious or cultural conflict, internalized stigma, and life transitions. I provide affirming care for transgender, nonbinary, gender-diverse, and questioning individuals, including support around gender exploration, social transition stressors, and navigating systems such as school, work, and healthcare. My clinical perspective is informed by working closely with the LGBTQ+ community and I strive to practice in ways that are anti-oppressive, inclusive, and ethically grounded.
My professional training includes LGBTQ+-specific education and continuing education focused on gender-affirming care, trauma-informed practice, and equity-centered mental health treatment. I regularly seek out CEUs, consultations, and trainings related to LGBTQ+ mental health, including topics such as gender diversity, ethical affirming practice, minority stress, and inclusive assessment and diagnosis. I am committed to ongoing learning and accountability, recognizing that affirming care requires continual growth, reflection, and listening to the communities I serve.
At Mid-Ohio Counseling, LLC, I work to ensure that LGBTQ+ clients feel seen, respected, and empowered in therapy. I welcome clients who may have had negative or invalidating experiences in healthcare settings and aim to rebuild trust through transparency, consent, and collaboration. My goal is to support LGBTQ+ individuals in living authentically, building resilience, and moving toward lives that feel meaningful and self-directed.
