Creating a practice and space that is so clearly a safe space for anyone who falls under the queer umbrella was truly my mission when I started my group. Whether that be through the abundance of rainbow decor or just an inviting, non-confrontational, non-questioning environment.
My approach to counseling is client-centered; I work with you to create the best-fit treatment to your needs. I work with adults, adolescents, and children on a variety of issues. Our goal together will be to help you feel more in tune with yourself and navigate life with a healthy perspective. I am trained in the use of Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) as well as Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR). I also have certification in the treatment of youth who have caused sexual harm through IN-AJSOP. I utilize Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and incorporate mindfulness and building of coping skills for everyone. The majority of my clients, as well as our practice’s clients, identify as LGBTQ+ and many times neurodivergent with traumatic childhoods. This niche of client has become my speciality.
Personally, my wife and I are both active in our local queer community through hosting a monthly Queer Board Gaming group, participating in Stonewall Sports leagues as well as attending and supporting queer events throughout the year.
