As a trauma-informed therapist, I approach my work with deep respect for the complexity of each person’s story, including the unique experiences and challenges within LGBTQ+ communities. My practice is grounded in compassion, curiosity, and inclusivity. I believe that healing and growth happen when clients feel truly seen and safe to explore all parts of themselves.
My personal and professional values emphasize creating affirming spaces where clients can show up fully as who they are. I offer LGBTQ+-affirming therapy for individuals and couples and have experience supporting clients exploring identity, sexuality, gender expression, and relational patterns. My training in Internal Family Systems (IFS, Level 1) allows me to help clients engage with internal parts of themselves that may have developed in response to societal, familial, religious, or internalized messages about identity. Through EMDR, I also support clients in reprocessing distressing experiences related to rejection, shame, or trauma connected to sexual orientation or gender identity so they can move toward a deeper sense of self-acceptance and empowerment.
In my practice, I draw from evidence-based modalities including IFS, EMDR, Attachment-Based therapy, CBT, and ACT, integrating somatic interventions from my years as a yoga teacher to help clients reconnect with the wisdom of their bodies. I am committed to ongoing education and dialogue around intersectionality, privilege, and cultural humility, and I strive to ensure my therapeutic environment remains inclusive for LGBTQ+ and other marginalized clients.
My graduate work included a thesis on Trauma-Sensitive Yoga and Mental Health Counseling, which continues to inform how I create safety and attunement in the therapy room. I view this work as a continual journey of learning and unlearning, celebrating diversity, affirming each person’s lived experience, and fostering deeper self-awareness, resilience, and connection.
