Dr. Agarunov moved to Florida after completing an intensive three year surgical residency at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center in Brooklyn. During his last year of residency, Dr. Agarunov served as chief resident overseeing 30 other residents, as well as educating student doctors in podiatric medicine.
After residency, Dr. Agarunov moved on to a fellowship in lower extremity wound care, recognized by the Council on Podiatric Medical Education, at Coney Island Hospital. The facility is part of NYC Health+Hospitals, the largest public health care system in the nation and was the first US public healthcare system to mandate LGBTQ training for all staff members in 2011.
Dr. Agarunov is certified by the American Board of Podiatric Medicine and qualified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery. He maintains a certification in foot and ankle arthroscopy and certification in hyperbaric oxygen therapy.
Prior to his medical education, Dr. Agarunov graduated as a member of Phi Beta Kappa from the University at Buffalo.He is fluent in Russian and conversational Japanese. His interests include wound care, the latest shoe gear, and surgical treatments.
