As a mixed queer woman of South Asian and Black heritage, my lived experience deeply informs my therapeutic approach and the lens through which I support LGBTQIA+ individuals. I identify as pansexual and came out in high school—an experience that shaped my commitment to creating safe, affirming, and empowering spaces for queer youth and adults navigating identity, family dynamics, and self-acceptance.
My personal journey includes navigating contrasting reactions within my own family—one parent deeply accepting, and another struggling due to religious beliefs. Moving through those tensions taught me firsthand the emotional complexity that many LGBTQIA+ individuals face, especially when love, identity, and cultural expectations intersect. Because of this, I hold deep compassion for young people who are preparing to come out, processing rejection, or seeking confidence in their authentic selves. I strive to offer the reassurance, safety, and affirmation I wish I had more access to in my own adolescence.
As an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist at Ripple Effects Therapy, I have had the privilege of working with a majority queer caseload throughout my practice. Supporting LGBTQIA+ clients—particularly teens and young adults—has become one of the most meaningful parts of my professional life. Many clients express that having a therapist who is also part of the community brings a sense of understanding, relatability, and comfort that strengthens rapport and fosters deeper healing. I honor that trust and work collaboratively to help clients rewrite limiting narratives, build resilience, and celebrate the fullness of who they are.
My work includes supporting clients with:
Coming out experiences and exploring identity at their own pace
Navigating family rejection, religious conflict, or cultural pressures
Queer youth mental health, including anxiety, self-esteem, and belonging
Relationship concerns, including communication, attachment, and healing from past harm
Intersectional identity exploration, especially for BIPOC LGBTQIA+ individuals
Gender-affirming support, including letter writing (if applicable) and identity exploration
I am committed to ongoing LGBTQIA+ education, allyship, and community involvement. My clinical work is grounded in affirmation, equity, and a belief that every individual deserves to be seen, heard, and honored. Being part of the LGBTQIA+ community myself gives me a profound appreciation for the courage it takes to show up authentically, and I consider it an incredible honor to walk alongside clients in their healing and empowerment.
We are not alone in this. I’m grateful every day to be part of the journeys of those I serve, and I look forward to continuing to support the LGBTQIA+ community with compassion, pride, and unwavering affirmation.
