Hi! I’m Lucy. My approach to therapy is collaborative, empathic and holistic. I am passionate about providing trauma-informed, anti-racist, LGBTQIA+ affirming care and holding space for the breadth of identities and narratives that impact our human existence. I grew up in a complex religious environment navigating queer identity and family acceptance, experiences that led me to want to providing healing, compassion and safety for LGBTQIA+ folx and related identities. I completed my Masters in Counseling Psychology in 2018 from the Wright Institute in Berkeley and began practicing therapy with individuals and couples in the Bay Area seven years ago. Much of my work has been informed by my own experiences in therapy. I strive to integrate clinical interventions that affirm diverse identities, open our emotions, and invite curiosity towards our inner world.
I focused my training on providing LGBTQIA+ affirming care, including gender spectrum medical advocacy (I provide letters for necessary and life-saving care for the transgender community), and became a sexual assault counselor (SAC) for the state of California. I worked with sexual assault survivors through advocacy in the legal system and trauma-focused therapy while training in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT) to support queer couples navigating non-monogamy in particular and family challenges. I’ve recently completed my sex therapy certification at the California Institute of Integral Studies and am passionate about serving clients that have been systemically and erotically marginalized. I also provide trainings for trainees, interns and clinics on working with diverse relationships in therapy (focusing on affirming clinical approaches to working with non-monogamy and the intersection of identities).
