I’m Abby McIntyre Frank, a licensed professional clinical counselor in Ohio. I specialize in trauma-focused, LGBTQ+ affirming therapy for teens and adults. My work centers on the reality that LGBTQ+ communities are among the most vulnerable to trauma in this country—whether from family rejection, religious abuse, intimate partner violence, systemic oppression, or simply surviving in a world that too often isn’t safe.
I identify as queer and bring both professional training and lived awareness into the therapy room. My approach is direct, relational, and grounded in safety—you don’t have to defend or explain your identity here. I’ve worked with queer and trans clients in schools, community mental health, and private practice, and I continue to complete education in LGBTQ+ mental health and trauma treatment. My training includes EMDR, CPT, CBT, TF-CBT, and somatic work, with additional focus on dissociation and complex trauma.
My goal is to provide therapy that doesn’t just “validate,” but actually helps you unpack survival strategies, reduce shame, and reclaim space for yourself. Affirming care isn’t a box to check—it’s a commitment to showing up for LGBTQ+ people with real, evidence-based support in the face of the trauma they disproportionately experience.
