My experience in the therapy field has taken me on many paths! I have worked as a social worker linking people to services and resources and as a clinical coordination of care for populations managing mental health concerns as well as cognitive disabilities. I have been a community behavioral health clinician as well as a member of an integrated care team working with physical health providers.
In my practice, I often work with individuals experiencing anxiety, panic, acute/complex trauma, life transitions, interpersonal conflict, perinatal mood disorders, grief, and more. The space I create in therapy feels grounded and human, bringing in the important aspect of using your own knowledge of yourself and lived experiences to create an experience unique to you. I believe that tapping into your inner work that you have already done will help us build something strong and resilient to weather all of the things life will throw your way. The main tools I will use in our sessions will include Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and mindfulness work. I approach sessions with a person-centered, strengths-based approach to care. The areas I specialize in therapy come from a personal and clinical perspective. I feel that this enriches our experience together and can ground the work from a real, authentic lived space. I am a partner, parent, and life-long learner of how to handle my own mental health and use that along with my therapeutic skills to guide our work.
