Peter believes that NYC’s 800,000 LGBTQ residents deserve something better, and that if primary care is deliberately and thoughtfully designed to deliver the full scope of what people need (all PrEP options, telehealth, gender-affirming hormone care, HIV treatment, additional vaccinations & screenings needed) and people have a positive, affirming experience in a warm environment, then our communities health will be strong. To do so, in 2023, he assumed a newly created role, as the Director of LGBTQ Care in NYC at Lenox Hill for Northwell. With LGBTQ Physician Champions in most all departments, he has also built a network of referrals to specialists beyond Primary Care. He welcomes new patients to his practices.
Peter has spent his entire career as a Family Physician and an HIV Specialist working in lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer (LGBTQ) Healthcare, and for a decade prior to his current role, he was the Chief Medical Officer at Callen-Lorde.
Peter is a board-certified Family Physician, is credentialed with the American Academy of HIV Medicine, and has GEI certification from WPATH.
He and his husband live in Manhattan.
