Hello! I am Dr. Ray Kleinfelder, a board-certified dermatologist. I am a native of Buffalo, New York, where I obtained my bachelor of science in biology with a minor in sociology from Canisius College. While in college, I was on the executive board of Unity, my college’s LGBTQ+ organization. I also attended and then led a weekend retreat for LGBT+ students and allies called “Always Our Children.” I attended medical school at Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine at Midwestern University and completed my dermatology residency and cosmetic research fellowship in Miami, Florida. Following residency, I returned to Chicago for my first attending position in a private practice. I loved my time in Chicago and had a large population of LGBTQ+ patients. I now practice in sunny Santa Barbara, California. I am happily married to my partner of 12+ years. I am devoted to serving my community, especially my small, but growing, population that identify as LGBTQ+. I practice medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology. I have many transgender patients that struggle with acne due to difficulties from their hormones. I am happy to help guide their journey and find the treatments that will work with their other medications while healing their skin. I also assist patients with gender-affirming care, including laser hair reduction therapy and facial rebalancing.
