Hi, I’m Ryan! I grew up in Bellingham, Washington, earned two degrees abroad in Italy and Spain, and am a former psychometrist and marketer-turned-therapist. I am a male therapist accepting Premera, LifeWise & BCBS for online anxiety, trauma, and relationship therapy in Washington. I work with people who appear successful on the outside while privately feeling anxious, disconnected, overwhelmed, or stuck in the same relationship patterns.
I strive to see the good in my clients, even when it is difficult for them to see it in themselves. My goal is to help you live a more meaningful and authentic life, whatever that may look like for you.
Here’s how therapy tends to work with me. I find that when we become more aware of our conditioned behaviors, we develop greater insight and can begin introducing new, healthier patterns. Therapy with me tends to be both insight-oriented and action-oriented. To help you make progress outside of sessions, I may assign behavioral challenges, or “missions,” throughout the week.
I believe that early childhood experiences and subconscious patterns can strongly influence us, but they do not permanently define who we are or how we behave. My work is informed by Adlerian and psychodynamic approaches. Through awareness, effective interventions, and intentional effort, we can shape more positive behaviors and relationships as adults.
I work frequently with LGBTQ+ clients, including gay men, lesbian women, bisexual men and women, transgender clients, and people who are questioning or exploring their sexual orientation or gender identity. I aim to provide a space where you can speak openly about identity, dating, relationships, intimacy, family dynamics, coming out, self-acceptance, and the experience of navigating a world that may not always feel affirming.
I tend to work well with clients from many backgrounds, although the following groups often feel particularly drawn to my approach: young adults, Gen Z and millennials, men experiencing loneliness or insecurity, people navigating relationship and attachment concerns, LGBTQ+ clients, single parents, and those working toward meaningful relationships, healthier dating patterns, and a stronger sense of connection.
I use tools such as EMDR to help reduce the emotional intensity of past negative experiences and trauma. I also integrate evidence-based treatments such as Cognitive Processing Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for PTSD, anxiety, relationship difficulties, and other concerns.
I would be happy to explain my approach further and answer any questions during a free consultation. It is a simple, low-pressure way to see whether we might be a good fit. I look forward to meeting you!
In my personal life, I enjoy spending time with my family, fiancé, and friends, being in nature, tackling DIY and renovation projects, walking and biking around my community, growing food in the garden, and practicing Vipassana meditation, although not as often as I would like!
