Sarah Espinoza, MPA, PA-C, CAQ-Psych joined Tanner Clinic Behavioral Health in 2021. She attended Weber State University and received a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology with a Minor in Chemistry, and attended the University of Findlay where she earned her Master of Physician Assistant. Sarah is an NCCPA board-certified physician assistant with a Utah state PA license. She has a Medications for Addiction Treatment (MAT) Waiver from the American Academy of Addiction Psychiatry and has completed her Certificate of Added Qualifications (CAQ) in psychiatry. Her practice is located at Tanner Clinic in East Layton in the west wing basement.

Sarah is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Utah Academy of Physician Assistants. In her line of work, Sarah believes “no one should feel ashamed to admit they need help. It takes a strong person to reach out when they are struggling, and [she] wants to be a provider people feel comfortable with. [She is] passionate about providing great care and hopes to have a positive role in people’s lives.” Traits that make her successful are optimism, compassion, and high motivation to help her patients. She is very passionate about working with the LGBTQIA+ community and provides gender-affirming care.

She was born in New Mexico but grew up in Layton after her father was stationed at Hill Air Force Base. Sarah has a loving and supportive family across the Western US and Australia! Her happy place is out in nature, and she enjoys hiking in the Utah mountains and traveling all over the country with her dog, Riley. In her free time, she spends it hiking, mountain biking, and sailing with her dad. She also enjoys traveling, dancing, crafting, and trying new recipes!

Sarah’s favorite music is rock and alternative rock, her favorite book is ‘The Picture of Dorian Gray’ by Oscar Wilde, and her favorite show is “Stranger Things.” She loves coffee any time of the day and one of her favorite treats is the Peanut Butter Cup Perfection from Cold Stone Creamery. A goal she has is to visit all the national parks in the US and step foot on every continent!
