Self-compassion is an important step in the journey for self-growth, but sometimes the journey is tough, and you need support. The counseling process is a collaborative effort between the therapist and the client in a supportive and judgement-free environment. I aspire to empower and validate my clients within this supportive environment, and I believe the therapeutic relationship is of utmost importance in therapy. My hope is to instill skills, coping strategies, and confidence so my clients feel empowered to handle life’s obstacles.
I believe that a supportive environment can help clients identify their strengths and them to reach their therapeutic goals. I work with people who are experiencing low self-esteem, anxiety, depression, stress, interpersonal issues, disordered eating, life transitions, and anyone who may need some guidance through feeling unstuck. I want my clients to feel empowered and to gain confidence to feel more in control of their life because they are the experts of their own lives. It is important for people to feel heard and validated and I strive to apply this within the therapy sessions.
I know through my work with variety of population and ages that feeling heard and validated can be the motivating factor in achieving one’s goals to enhance their life. I received my undergraduate degree in Psychology and a minor in public health from Muhlenberg College. Additionally, I received my Master’s in Counseling Psychology with a certificate in Applied Behavior Analysis from Eastern University. I am certified in Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and I use an integrative approach that includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance-Commitment Therapy, Person Centered, and Positive psychotherapy. Outside of the therapy environment, I enjoy staying active, traveling, doing puzzles and board games, watching a variety of show genres, and spending time with my loved ones. I love spending my time with furry friends, especially my dog Carmel!
My hope is for you to be gentle and loving to yourself as you start this journey of self-exploration. I am excited to start working with you, so please reach out if you think it would be a good fit!
