Dr. Steven LaBrecque believes that sustainable optimal health requires addressing the “root causes” of health conditions through a number of modalities including diet & lifestyle, correction of nutritional insufficiencies and hormone imbalances, environmental exposures & detoxification, and mental health support. As a primary care physician, he is passionate about taking a comprehensive history of each patient and prescribing personalized treatment plans utilizing both conventional treatments and naturopathic therapies. Educating each patient on their health condition and providing them the tools, resources, and mindset to reach their health goals is essential to Dr. LaBrecque. He obtained his doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine from Bastyr University, and has received specialized postdoctoral training in minor surgery and acute procedures, bioidentical hormone replacement (Certified BioTE Practitioner), IV therapy, environmental medicine, and cardiometabolic medicine.
Prior to medical school, he earned his Bachelor of Science in neuroscience, psychology, and biomedical sciences from Central Michigan University. He then went on to complete his Master of Public Health (MPH) from Michigan State University, with a concentration in health policy & health care law. While completing his MPH, he realized the severity of the primary care gap in the United States and decided to become a primary care physician who emphasizes disease prevention and health promotion. During medical school, he served on the Board of Directors for the Naturopathic Medical Student Association and Integrative Health Policy Consortium.
Prior to living in Seattle, Dr. LaBrecque lived in Florida and Michigan. In his free time, he enjoys exploring the Pacific Northwest with his partner and their two French bulldogs Chad and Chloe, learning new languages, and cooking plant-based meals.
