Dr. Steven Ovadia is a board-certified, double fellowship-trained plastic and reconstructive surgeon and the founder of Ovadia Plastic Surgery, with offices in Lower Manhattan, Jersey City, and Millburn, New Jersey.

Gender-affirming surgery is at the center of his practice and his research. Dr. Ovadia completed a fellowship in Complex Gender Surgery and Microsurgery at Johns Hopkins, followed by a fellowship in Craniofacial and Pediatric Plastic Surgery at UT Austin/Dell Seton. He previously served as Director of the Rutgers Center for Transgender Health in New Jersey.

His gender-affirming surgery services include top surgery (double incision mastectomy and chest masculinization), facial feminization surgery (forehead contouring, jaw and chin contouring, and tracheal shave), breast augmentation, body feminization, and vaginoplasty. He also provides breast cancer reconstruction (implant, oncoplastic, and free flap), lymphedema surgery, lipedema surgery, and silicone removal.

Dr. Ovadia has published 30 peer-reviewed articles, with a focus on gender-affirming surgery outcomes, breast surgery, nerve reconstruction, and craniofacial surgery. He is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and holds hospital privileges throughout New York and New Jersey. He earned his MD at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.

His team guides patients through every step of the process, from letters of support and insurance authorization to coordinating care with their hormone and mental health providers.
