After 23 years of critical care nursing, I recently obtained my Doctor of Nursing Practice specializing in family practice from UT Health San Antonio. My goal is to provide inclusive care with a holistic and collaborative approach that focuses on the complete physical and emotional needs of my patients from all backgrounds. My special interest is to serve those who identify as LGBTQIA+, anyone living with HIV/AIDS, HIV prevention, and gender-affirming care for transgender individuals, including hormone therapy.
I am originally from Kathmandu, Nepal, where I spent most of my childhood. I have lived in Sierra Leone, Italy, Boston, New Orleans and Miami before making Austin my home since 2006. I am an active member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), GLMA, the World Professional Association of Transgender Health (WPATH) and the American Academy of HIV Medicine (AAHIV). I have completed WPATH’s Foundations Training for transgender care/health, attended the American Conference for the Treatment of HIV (ACTHIV) conference, and I am in the process of pursuing the HIV Specialist (AAHIVS) certification through AAHIV.
