I have been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker for 25 years, and supporting the LGBTQIA+ community has always been important to my work. As a Caucasian and African-American, cisgender lesbian woman, I understand how layered and deeply personal our lived experiences can be — and how powerful it is to feel genuinely seen, affirmed, and understood.
Throughout my career, I have pursued ongoing continuing education to ensure cultural humility and competence in addressing the evolving needs of the LGBTQ+ community. I provide identity-affirming, trauma-informed therapy for individual, navigating healing from childhood trauma, relationship concerns, parenting, recovery from sexual assault or domestic violence, co-occurring substance use and mental health challenges, and the impact of societal oppression and violence.
My clinical approach integrates Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Short-Term Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Mindfulness practices, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and body–mind modalities. I am also a Master’s Level Registered Addiction Specialist, with experience supporting individuals heal from trauma while maintaining their recovery.
At The Rose Garden, healing and restoration extend beyond conversation. I attend to the interconnected needs of the body, mind, and spirit through individualized, collaborative, and empowerment-based treatment planning. As a Licensed Massage and Bodywork Therapist in North Carolina, I also offer integrative massage, somatic bodywork, and Reiki for clients seeking nervous system healing and holistic support instead of psychotherapy.
Most recently, I began facilitating a Creative Arts Personal Growth Group designed to support individuals impacted by interpersonal cruelty, bullying and societal violence in finding connection, safety, and community. My intention is to create a space where you can show up fully as yourself — and begin healing at your own pace.
