Having cystic fibrosis is challenging enough on its own. Being queer, trans, intersex, etc. adds a lot of additional complexity. But it’s also an opportunity to form really powerful connections and friendships. Come find community, support, and plenty of fun with folks you can always be your authentic self around!
Within the CF community, people identifying anywhere within the LGBTQIA+ landscape are often more isolated socially and facing unique challenges instrumentally. Having a space that’s just for us can help break through the feelings of loneliness and not belonging, and also help us navigate challenges with coordinating our care and building the lives we want. I wish I’d had this group when I was in an abusive relationship—it would have helped a lot to hear from other queer and non-binary folks with CF about how things could be different.
This group usually meets weekly, alternating between two different days/times to make sure everyone can participate regularly. Group members are currently choosing meeting days and times for summer. If you have specific scheduling needs, contact us ASAP so you can be included in the Doodle poll!
