I bring a unique and deep well of experience to my therapy practice, with over 14 years as a professional high school counselor and 12 years as an adjunct professor of counseling at New York University (NYU). This background, coupled with earlier work in college student affairs, provides me with profound insight into the challenges faced by adolescents, young adults, and adults navigating complex life stages—insight I draw on every day in my work as a therapist.
I hold both a Master of Arts and an Education Specialist (Ed.S.) degree in Counseling Services. My professional standing is further underscored by my credentials as a National Board Certified Counselor (NBCC) and an Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS). I welcome the opportunity to support you in your growth, healing, and self-discovery.
My approach is grounded in compassion, practical support, and a commitment to helping clients feel seen, understood, and empowered. Whether you are navigating work or school stress, identity exploration, dating, relationships, family dynamics, major life transitions, or mental health concerns, I tailor our work together in ways that feel meaningful and relevant to your unique needs and goals.
Clients can expect to take away a greater sense of clarity, self-awareness, and emotional resilience. Our work is supportive and collaborative—I work with you to better understand your experiences, identify meaningful goals, and develop practical, evidence-based strategies for moving forward. Booking your first appointment is a huge first step; if you’re ready, I’m ready.
Specific LGBTQ+ Services and Expertise
My dedication to the LGBTQIA+ community is a core part of my personal and professional identity and is reinforced by my role as an educator. I provide individual therapy across all ages served (Adolescents, Adults, Seniors), offering queer-competent, affirming care in the following areas:
Gender and Sexual Identity Exploration: Support for individuals navigating the coming out process, exploring complex identities (including non-binary and gender non-conforming identities), and managing minority stress.
Transgender Issues: Affirming support for those exploring their gender, managing life transitions, and navigating family, social, and professional relationships.
LGBTQ+ Sexual Wellness and Relationships: Counseling grounded in ethical non-monogamy and alternative relationship models, focusing on communication, intimacy, and sexual health.
Social Justice and Advocacy: Helping clients process the impact of systemic bias, discrimination, and microaggressions on their mental health.
Advanced LGBTQ+ Education and Experience
My expertise in this area is not just professional but academic. I currently teach in the New York University (NYU) Master of Arts in Counseling for Mental Health and Wellness program and, crucially, in their specialized Advanced Certificate Program in LGBTQ+ Health, Education, and Social Services. My course instruction includes: LGBTQ+ Sexual Wellness and Relationships, and Social Justice & Advocacy for the LGBTQ+ Community.
This continuous teaching and scholarly work ensures my practice remains current, ethical, and deeply informed by the latest research in queer-affirmative therapy and social justice counseling.
