I’m a counseling intern at Copper Door Counseling, which accepts most Indiana Medicaid plans. I work under the supervision of a fully licensed therapist while completing my clinical training. Before beginning this chapter, I spent about 10 years in community mental health, including crisis work, recovery services, and leadership roles. I also taught high school for four years. Those experiences continue to shape how I show up in therapy, steady, practical, and comfortable, sitting with complex situations.
I identify as bisexual, and my own lived experience informs the care I provide. I care deeply about working with LGBTQ+ individuals, couples, and families. I offer affirming therapy for people navigating identity exploration, coming out, family acceptance or rejection, religious trauma, minority stress, anxiety, depression, and relationship concerns. I understand that many LGBTQ+ clients are not just managing symptoms. They are also carrying the weight of invalidating environments, subtle bias, or past harm. That context matters, and it deserves space in the work.
My approach is primarily grounded in CBT and DBT. I focus on helping clients build practical skills to manage emotions, improve communication, set boundaries, and advocate for themselves. At the same time, I believe therapy should feel human. I bring humor, grounding, and genuine care into the room. My goal is to create a space where you do not have to defend or explain who you are.
I am committed to ongoing education in LGBTQ+ affirming care and to continually growing as a clinician. If you are looking for support with anxiety, depression, identity development, or relationship challenges, I aim to provide therapy that is collaborative, affirming, and steady.
