Hi, I’m Veronica! I’m a dual-certified Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with over 20 years of experience in healthcare. I’ve worked in inpatient medical settings, behavioral health environments, and with people from many different backgrounds, and those experiences really shaped how I care for patients today — open, respectful, supportive, and without judgment.
My practice, You Belong Integrative Mental Wellness, was created with one goal in mind: to offer a safe, welcoming space for adults seeking affirming, compassionate mental health care. I know a lot of people have had frustrating, dismissive, or hurtful experiences in healthcare, especially in mental health settings, and I want this to feel different.
I provide LGBTQ+ affirming psychiatric care for adults and welcome people across the gender and sexuality spectrum. I support patients dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, burnout, mood concerns, and life transitions, including challenges related to identity, stigma, and feeling unsupported in other spaces. My goal is to create a place where people feel comfortable showing up as themselves and getting the care they deserve.
My approach is trauma-informed, culturally responsive, collaborative, and whole-person centered. I believe mental health care should feel like a partnership, not a lecture. I’m not here to talk at you — I’m here to work with you. I want patients to feel comfortable asking questions, being honest, and feeling like their voice matters. I also care deeply about using inclusive, respectful language and creating treatment plans that feel individualized rather than one-size-fits-all.
As a psychiatric nurse practitioner, I’m committed to continuing to grow in LGBTQ+ affirming care, trauma-informed mental health care, and culturally responsive practice. My experience working with diverse patient populations in both medical and behavioral health settings has reinforced how important trust, safety, and affirmation really are in mental wellness.
At the end of the day, I want people to feel welcome here. My hope is that when someone connects with me for psychiatric care, medication management, and supportive mental health treatment, they feel heard, respected, and genuinely valued — because they belong here.
