As a gay and queer person who grew up in the Midwest, I bring a personal and lived understanding to my work with LGBTQIA+ folks and allies. My coming out journey is ongoing; I continue to work through privilege and oppression, internalized homophobia, explore healthier masculinity and gender, and deepen my relationship with sex, sexuality, and community. These experiences shape how I show up as a therapist and fuel my commitment to supporting others in their unique journeys.
I work with LGBTQIA+ teens, adults, and allies navigating relationships and the desire to live more authentically and in alignment with their values. Many clients seek relief from anxiety, depression, trauma, and oppressive political systems while striving to be more present, honest, and engaged in their lives and relationships.
I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Clinical Addictions Counselor (LCAC), and Certified Sex Therapist (CST), having completed specialized training through the University of Michigan’s Sexual Health Certificate Program. I’ve worked in substance use treatment, community mental health, and private practice settings, and my experience has given me valuable insight into supporting LGBTQIA+ individuals navigating systems not built with us in mind.
My approach is integrative, depth-oriented, and collaborative, grounded in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Compassion-Focused Therapy. My intention is to create a welcoming and beneficial space where you can explore your experiences, emotions, and relationships at a helpful pace. I understand that finding the right therapist can be challenging, especially when seeking relief and direction. If my information resonates with you, I encourage you to reach out.
