At the Sycamore Center for Assessment and Psychological Services, I specialize in Collaborative Therapeutic Assessment (CTA)—a process that goes beyond simply providing a diagnosis. We work alongside clients as partners, integrating psychological data with their lived experiences to co-create a deeper, more compassionate understanding of their struggles and strengths. This collaborative approach ensures that clients feel truly seen, heard, and empowered in their journey toward self-discovery and growth.
I am deeply committed to LGBTQ+ affirming care, recognizing that LGBTQ+ individuals often face unique challenges in seeking psychological assessment. Many experience misdiagnosis, invalidation, or assessments that fail to account for the complexities of gender identity, neurodiversity, and the impact of systemic stressors. Our practice prioritizes affirmation, contextual understanding, and collaborative meaning-making, ensuring that clients’ identities and experiences are respected and integrated into their assessment process.
LGBTQ+ Affirming Expertise
Neurodivergence & Late-Identified Autism: I specialize in assessing adults, with particular interests in working with those who suspect they may be neurodivergent later in life. I recognize how gender and identity shape the experience and expression of autism and ADHD, and we tailor our assessments accordingly.
Trauma-Informed & Intersectional Approach: Our work acknowledges the ways that social stigma, minority stress, and past negative healthcare experiences impact mental health. We work to create a safe space for clients to explore their experiences without judgment.
Collaborative & Narrative-Based Assessments: Instead of treating assessment as a cold, detached process, we view it as an opportunity for clients to gain insight, self-compassion, and clarity. We co-construct understanding through dialogue, ensuring that test results resonate with clients’ personal experiences.
Continuity of Care: We work closely with clients’ therapists, psychiatrists, and other providers to ensure that assessment findings are integrated into their ongoing care, helping to guide personalized treatment and support.
At our Carmel, Indiana practice, we believe that assessment is more than just answering questions—it’s about discovering new ways to understand yourself. If you or your clients could benefit from a thoughtful, affirming psychological assessment, we would be honored to help.
