Professionally, I am a clinical pharmacist specializing in outpatient care for folks living with HIV, at-risk for HIV, or of trans experience. I have completed two years of specialized pharmacist residency in these exact areas and have been serving folks of trans and gender fluid experience since 2020. In my practice site, I serve as the director of “TEAM” Clinic, which stands for Trustworthy, Evidence-based, Affirming, Multi-disciplinary. Besides ensuring all persons seen in the clinic are receiving affirming and high-quality care, I also see patients seeking gender-affirming hormone therapy and/or HIV prevention and educate them on the various options, adjust medications based on the person’s gender journey, and coordinate referrals to other social and medical specialists as needed.
Personally, I am a cisgender, gay male who came out to family and society at later age. I empathize with those experiencing challenges of coming out to family, friends, and coworkers, and use that experience to help break down the barriers and stigma that prevent many of my community from living their best lives.
