I am a white, cisgender woman therapist who identifies as queer and seeks to apply an anti-oppressive lens in psychotherapy. I have experience working with individuals who identify as part of the LGBTQ+ community, including individuals who identify as transgender. I have experience working with folks with HIV/AIDS through prior work as an art therapist at Housing Works in NYC. I have a Certificate in Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy from Naropa University. As part of this training, I did focused work on learning about antiracism and LGBTQ+ allyship. I value my own ongoing practice of education and self-reflection to further understand and apply an anti-oppressive lens to my work as a therapist. This includes reading, personal reflection, participating in supervision, and trainings through Violet. I am currently reading Audre Lorde, Bell Hooks, Jacquelyn Ogorchukwu Iyamah, and Dalia Kinsey. I am working to conceptualize the politicization of my practice and continue to strive for a deeper understanding of health equity, intersectionality, and oppressive systems.
I specialize in working with individuals struggling with the effects of complex trauma, codependency, and perfectionism. I have experience working in a variety of settings and with a variety of diagnoses. I especially work with those who feel emotionally overwhelmed, have difficulty setting boundaries, feel disconnected from themselves, struggle with rescuing/fixing others at their expense, experience low self-esteem, and self-abandonment. I assist in existential exploration of purpose, meaning, values and identity.
I take a warm and compassionate approach to assist in cultivating a safe space to explore your relational wounds and find healing through fostering empowerment, self-understanding, self-nurturance, and self-discovery. I incorporate approaches including art therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), ACT (Acceptance & Commitment Therapy), EMDR, and Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP).
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Colorado and Texas, and a Licensed Creative Arts Therapist in New York State. I am licensed to practice telehealth in Florida. I am a Board-Certified Art Therapist, trained EMDR therapist, and practicing psychedelic-assisted therapist. I am MAPS MDMA Assisted-Therapy trained. I have a Certificate in Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy from Naropa University.
