I am a member of the World Professional Association for Transgender Health, the Utah LGBTQ Affirming Therapy Guild, and have worked with many LGBTQIA+ clients at all stages of the identity discovery and re-discovery process. I stay up to date on professional trainings and am always learning from my friends, family, and clients’ experiences as part of the LGBTQIA+ community. As an a-gendered therapist who generally expresses as female, I understand there are many ways to experience gender, sexuality, romance, and every other way someone can think of to feel comfortable with themselves and their partner choices in this world. While being part of the LGBTQIA+ community isn’t pathological, there are often mental health challenges that arise from navigating a heteronormative, binary culture, family system, work environment, etc. As a trauma and addiction specialist with multicultural competency, I aim to be a resource for those who’s struggles have lead to self-defeating emotions, thoughts, and behaviors.
