Ashley McGuinness is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor Supervisor (LPCC-S) with nearly a decade of experience supporting individuals navigating life’s challenges. Known for her warm, compassionate, and empathetic style, Ashley takes a collaborative approach to therapy, blending evidence-based techniques with holistic and trauma-informed practices to help clients build resilience, foster wellness, and create meaningful change.
Ashley is deeply committed to providing affirming, inclusive care and creating a therapeutic space where all parts of a person’s identity are welcomed, respected, and supported. She works with clients across a wide range of experiences and identities, with a particular focus on supporting LGBTQIA+ and gender-expansive individuals. Her practice intentionally holds space for communities that have often been marginalized in traditional mental health settings, including Two-Spirit and intersex individuals, trans and nonbinary folx, people in leather/kink/BDSM communities, sex workers, and those practicing consensual non-monogamy, polyamory, or other expansive relationship structures.
Ashley also provides WPATH-aligned Gender-Affirming Care Support Letters consistent with the Standards of Care, Version 8. These letters can support clients seeking hormone replacement therapy (HRT), gender-affirming surgeries, or legal name and gender marker updates, and may be offered as part of ongoing therapy or as a stand-alone service.
In addition to working directly with clients, Ashley provides clinical supervision and mentorship to other counselors, helping foster their growth and supporting ethical, high-quality care across the field. Her work centers autonomy, consent, and embodied liberation, with the goal of helping clients reconnect with their strengths and move toward healing and wholeness.
