I am a gay, cis-gender pediatric nurse practitioner. I graduated from Yale School of Nursing in 2019 and now work at Metropolitan Pediatrics in Beaverton, OR. While in graduate school, I was a founding member of a group that worked towards increasing awareness and education about LGBTQIA+ healthcare at the school of nursing. We pushed for the creation of a Gender and Sexuality Health Justice sub-specialty. Once created, I was able to audit 2 of these classes before graduation. Additionally, one of my practicum sites was at the Yale gender program where I got to learn about gender-affirming care from a pediatric endocrinologist.
