Hi, I’m Chimere Clark, DNP, a board-certified Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner (WHNP-BC) and a lesbian provider offering inclusive, evidence-based sexual and reproductive health care for people across the lifespan and gender spectrum. As a member of the LGBTQ+ community myself, I understand firsthand how much it matters to find a provider who doesn’t require you to explain or justify who you are before you can get good care — that understanding shapes every visit at my practice.
Through my practice, CoVA Care, PLLC, I offer both in-person care in Norfolk, Virginia, and virtual visits across Virginia and New York. I provide gender-affirming hormone therapy for transgender and gender-diverse patients — including feminizing hormone therapy (estrogen and anti-androgens) and masculinizing hormone therapy (testosterone) — using an informed-consent model aligned with WPATH Standards of Care, Version 8, and Endocrine Society clinical guidelines. I also manage menopausal hormone therapy, contraception counseling, menstrual and hormonal health concerns, STI prevention and treatment, and general gynecologic care, all in a judgment-free, patient-centered environment.
My clinical background includes extensive experience in OB/GYN, maternal-fetal medicine, and pediatric/adolescent gynecology, with a particular focus on hormone management across the lifespan. I have deep, hands-on experience managing feminizing and masculinizing gender-affirming hormone therapy, menopausal hormone therapy, and the full range of hormonal and menstrual concerns — from initial evaluation and lab-guided dosing through long-term titration and monitoring. I hold Women’s Health board certification through the National Certification Corporation, whose curriculum and exam content specifically includes sexual and reproductive health care for males, LGBTQ+, and gender-nonconforming individuals — not just cisgender women — which shaped how I approach hormone care for every patient who walks through my door, regardless of gender identity.
I’m also an Assistant Professor at Frontier Nursing University, where I teach in the Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner program, preparing MSN students to deliver competent, affirming clinical care — including care for LGBTQ+ and gender-diverse patients — before they enter practice themselves.
I am committed to creating a welcoming, affirming space where every patient — regardless of gender identity, sexual orientation, or relationship structure — feels informed, respected, and empowered in their care. Whether you’re starting hormone therapy, managing menopause, need contraception or STI care, or want a provider who won’t make you explain yourself twice, I’m here for you.
I currently see patients in-person in Norfolk, VA, and virtually across Virginia and New York. Please visit covacareva.com for services, pricing, and scheduling.
