Hello! My name is Chloe (she/her) and I am a therapist completing my postdoctoral fellowship. I am a white, lesbian, gray-ace, transgender woman-identified clinician. I am passionate about helping individuals understand how the unique intersection of their identities, cultural backgrounds, and social context can inform experiences of trauma, sources of strength and community, and shape other life challenges. I specialize in and am particularly passionate about working with transgender, nonbinary, and LGBQIA+ people and communities, and individuals experiencing outpatient disordered eating concerns, and how current struggles can be informed by past and ongoing experiences of acute and complex trauma. My approach to therapy integrates multicultural, feminist, and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) theories and techniques. I strongly believe that each person is the expert of their own life, and my hope is to continuously collaborate with you to co-create a safe, affirming, nonjudgmental, and healing therapy space. I am currently able to meet with individuals both in-person (on Mondays) and virtually (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday). In-person services are in Washington, DC. For virtual sessions, I can meet with clients residing in DC, Maryland, or Virginia.
In my work as a therapist and in my personal life, I strongly value transparency, safety, authenticity, connection, autonomy, and humility. By integrating these values in my approach to therapy, I aim to create an affirming and empowering environment for all of my clients. I understand that what we experience in our lives cannot be separated from the cultural and sociopolitical environments in which we live in. I value understanding, affirming, and empowering how an individual’s identities and cultural background intersects with their strengths, sources of community and connection, current distress, and healing process. My hope is that, through therapy, we can work together to identify and explore the values and experiences that are most important and salient to you. I always welcome and encourage feedback so that we collaborate and work together to co-create a healing therapeutic space that meets your needs and goals. I am completing my postdoctoral fellowship at a practice called the Trauma Resilience and Education Center of Greater Washington, DC (TREC DC); a collective of psychotherapists, educators, and researchers with decades of experience dedicated to providing evidence-based and trauma-informed services.
In my role at TREC DC, I provide trauma-informed therapy that includes DBT, CPT, feminist therapy, and other trauma-informed approaches. Please note that I am an associate with TREC DC; if you submit an inquiry directly through our website, our intake coordinator will reach out to you.
