Dr. Florence Yuan is a family physician and clinical faculty at the University of California, Irvine (UCI) Family Health Center at Santa Ana, which is a federally qualified health center. She attended medical school at the Frank H. Netter, M.D. School of Medicine at Quinnipiac University and completed family medicine residency at UCI. Her clinical interests include gender-affirming care and LGBTQ+ medicine, reproductive health, health communication, and lifestyle medicine. She has given presentations to both community members and medical trainees on topics such as trauma-informed care, pregnancy options counseling, and gender-affirming surgery. She is the associate program director of an elective course for fourth-year medical students at UCI on gender-affirming care. For her medical student and resident learners, she remains committed to providing education that affirms patients’ experiences and improves access to high-quality care for all patients, including those who are underserved and marginalized. She provides a variety of LGBTQ+ services including primary care and cancer screenings, hormone therapy, referral to resources, gender affirmation letters, contraception, prenatal care, STI testing/treatment, and PrEP/PEP.
