Dr. Howell is clinical psychologist and an LGBT expert. In addition to his clinical practice and faculty role in teaching clinical psychology doctoral students, he provides diversity and LGBT training to clinicians across the country. He is a member of WPATH, APA, and provides consultation to physicians, educators, and families around supporting the transition journey for transgender and nonbinary patients. He writes letters for surgery and hormones as well as provides documentation for gender marker changes on legal documentation. He has presented over 100 trainings at local, state, national, and international conferences. He has led a national LGBT organization and advocates for sexual and gender minority rights. He also works to center diverse and marginalized voices and has done extensive work around addressing violence against transgender women of color in the United States. He also has a podcast on several platforms (Apple, Anchor, etc..) called Queer Folx Megaphone.
