As a gay Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C) with over a decade of experience in LGBTQIA+ health, I provide affirming, trauma-informed care to patients in California and Alaska. My practice, Be Well Berlin, offers in-person visits in Los Angeles and virtual care statewide in Alaska — expanding access to high-quality mental health care, gender-affirming hormone therapy (HRT), primary care, and LGBTQIA+ health services, especially for rural and underserved communities.

I have worked in LGBTQIA+ health since 2012, beginning with HIV prevention and gender-affirming care research. Since becoming an FNP in 2017, I’ve provided full-scope primary care, transgender HRT, PrEP and DoxyPEP for HIV prevention, and mental health care for queer and gender-diverse patients. In 2022, I added evidence-based treatment for substance use disorders, including buprenorphine/Suboxone care for opioid use disorder (OUD).

My practice is inclusive of Two-Spirit, transgender, nonbinary, gender-diverse individuals, and people in kink, polyamorous, and nontraditional relationships.

I am currently completing a Primary Care Psychiatry Fellowship at UCI School of Medicine to further strengthen my care for anxiety, depression, trauma, insomnia, and bipolar disorder. I incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI) to support change and reduce stigma. I also provide gender affirmation letters, hormone monitoring, and psychotherapy-informed medication management.
