I came to this work the long way around — through gay youth activism in Boston, AIDS organizing in New York, and twenty years in corporate law before training as a psychotherapist. My approach is existential, humanistic, and Gestalt-informed. I work with gay men and the broader LGBTQ+ community, and with people in kink, poly, and non-traditional relationship configurations — because these are my communities, not a niche I’ve developed.
I work with individuals, couples, polycules, families, and groups on whatever is getting in the way — anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, sexual and creative blocks, relationship difficulties, and the particular pressures of living outside conventional structures: jealousy, negotiating desire, navigating multiple partnerships, intimacy challenges.
I bring a transpersonal dimension to the work when it fits — decades of practice in Western spiritual traditions have shaped how I understand the self and what real change looks like.
I also offer ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (KAP) in partnership with Journey Clinical for people who feel entrenched in patterns that haven’t shifted through other means.
My office is on Church Street in the Castro, San Francisco. I see clients in person and remotely throughout California. License: MFC105894
