I am a family nurse practitioner that has one transgender child and one non-binary child. I moved our family to the PNW from the deep south. One reason for this move was to protect them from social norms in that area that could harm them emotionally AND physically. Since that time, there have been a number of laws passed that would also impact them. I understand the unique struggles faced by the LGBTQ+ community, as individual members and as a whole.
