Kim (she/her) is a genderqueer lesbian and has been working in helping capacities even before she became a social worker. These experiences ranged from working with adolescents in an acute psychiatric setting, to crisis lines and debriefing for train accidents, to spearheading email based support to more than 300 people for 15 years. Once she obtained her degrees, she spent 7 years working with vulnerable adults in abuse situations by connecting families to resources, supporting those in need in finding safety and relief from trauma, and working with people regarding the aging process. Kim has also worked with the University of Utah Mobile Crisis Outreach Team assessing people in crisis, connecting them to helping community partners, assisting in creating safety plans, and facilitating inpatient stays when required. Kim specializes in LGBTQ issues, particularly as they relate to religion and spirituality. She is a member of the LGBTQ-Affirmative Psychotherapist Guild of Utah and is Dept of Licensing Certified for Hormonal Transgender Treatment of Minors in the State of Utah, which required 40 additional CEU hours related to Transgender Youth Gender Affirming Care.
