I feel lit up by my work with the LGBT community. My wife and I both do queer work and find deep meaning in service to our community. During my practicum, I worked at The Spahr Center, Marin’s LGBT and HIV resource center that has sadly since closed, as so many services for our community have. I have sought out many specialized trainings, including training on how to write letters of support for gender affirming medical procedures. I find a lot of meaning in providing these letters as a means of removing a barrier to gender affirming care.
