Practical, optimistic, and creative with 20+ years working on equity in sex, gender, and sexuality across intersectional feminist and queer issues and spaces and 10+ years in the mindfulness, meditation, and holistic wellness, Leona earned her BA in Postcolonial Women’s Literature from NYU’s Gallatin School and her MSW from The University at Albany, SUNY.
Integrating a strengths-based approach with systems, polyvagal, rewilding, and attachment theories, I utilize somatic body/breath, cognitive/behavioral, and narrative practices to increase whole person integration, heal past wounds, and build positive coping skills. Working from an intersectional liberation framework, I am trained in Nonviolent Communication, Mindfulness and Non-Dual Meditation, Motivational Interviewing, Level 2 Gottman Couples Therapy, Transgender and Nonbinary Affirming Care, and Perinatal Mental Health.
I work with teens, adults, couples, and families. I specialize in anxiety, grief/loss/bereavement, gender affirmation, life transitions, relationships, perinatal/reproductive health (including fertility, pregnancy, birth, loss, and new parenthood for gestational persons and their partners), and spiritual growth.
