As a gay cisgender male and trauma-informed psychotherapist, I bring both professional expertise and lived experience to the care I provide for members of the LGBTQI+ community. My practice is rooted in cultural humility, empathy, and an unwavering commitment to supporting individuals navigating the complexities of identity, trauma, and mental health.
Prior to relocating to the United States, I worked internationally for over a decade across a broad range of clinical settings—including inpatient and outpatient mental health centers, community health services, and crisis intervention roles. My work as a crisis counselor with The Trevor Project further deepened my dedication to providing compassionate, identity-affirming care to LGBTQ+ individuals in acute distress.
In addition to clinical work, I have also served as a college professor, helping to shape the next generation of mental health professionals. My integrative approach to therapy draws from a variety of evidence-based modalities, including Internal Family Systems (IFS), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), psychodynamic therapy, and attachment-based work. My specialty in trauma-informed care is central to how I support clients in navigating both individual and collective wounds.
I hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, as well as two Bachelor’s degrees—one in Psychology and another in Occupational Therapy. I am fluent in both English and French and offer services in person in Hillsboro, Oregon, and via telehealth to residents of Oregon and Washington.
I am also an active member of the SAIGE organization (Society for Sexual, Affectional, Intersex, and Gender Expansive Identities), which reflects my ongoing dedication to professional development and advocacy within diverse communities.
On a personal level, my commitment to LGBTQ+ care is deeply informed by my own journey. I came out in 1997 and, like many, faced rejection and abandonment from my family, along with years of bullying and marginalization. These experiences shaped my resilience and deepened my empathy. I know firsthand what it feels like to be ridiculed, silenced, or unseen—and I’ve also come to understand the profound power of healing, visibility, and connection.
Whether you’re navigating identity exploration, trauma recovery, relationship challenges, or simply seeking a space where you feel seen and safe, it would be an honor to support you.
