Hello! My name is Matt, and I am a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) practicing via telehealth in Florida. As a gay man, I treat all LGBTQ+ individuals with the utmost compassion, respect, and empathy. I graduated with my Master’s degree from Walden University in 2024, a University whose vision and mission include solving societal challenges, promoting greater global good, and effecting positive social change. One of my core beliefs is that everyone is doing the best they can, and if given the right resources and support, people will thrive, flourish, and self-actualize as they are meant to.
An integral part of my psychiatric practice involves providing resources to those in need, including referrals to the Trevor Project, PFLAG, and the LGBT National Hotline. I’m deeply concerned about the lack of trans-visibility in the United States and the high rate of suicide for our LGBTQ+ youths. I hope that all members of the LGBTQ+ community can benefit from the care I provide. I have completed ample CMEs and CEUs on equity, diversity, and how to treat those who are disenfranchised or disadvantaged due to the attributes that make them diverse and unique. Most of my continuing education on the subject of diversity was completed on Violet, the American Psychiatric Nurses Association, CE Broker, and Think Cultural Health on the US Department of Health and Human Services’s website. I am constantly looking for ways to improve myself and my knowledge base, with the ultimate goal of becoming more culturally competent than I am today.
Thank you for allowing me to share a little about myself, and I look forward to getting to know you soon!
