Matthew Lonski is a warm, compassionate therapist who works with adults to give all people the safe space they need to foster growth and change. Matthew practices a gender affirmative trauma informed integrative approach to counseling while using evidence-based interventions including CBT, DBT, and ACT. As a queer identified and gender variant person, Matthew is a passionate advocate for the LGBTQIA+ community. Regardless of your background or how you identify, Matthew aims to incorporate all intersections of a client’s identity to deliver a holistic approach to counseling. Matthew follows the WPATH Standards of Care.
Matthew received his undergraduate degree in Psychology from Northern Illinois University and his Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling also from NIU. Matthew holds additional certifications in Trauma Informed Counseling and LGBTQIA+ Studies. Matthew has also conducted extensive research on the effects of prejudice in marginalized communities, and ensuring safe classrooms in both primary and higher learning institutions. Matthew uses He/They pronouns.
