Remington “Remi” Mitchell is a licensed clinical professional counselor and graduate of Roosevelt University’s Clinical Psychology (Counseling Practice) program.
They specialize in working with children, adolescents, and young adults who struggle with LGBTQIA+ issues, gender identity concerns,
anxiety, depression, concerns with self-worth, life transitions, and trauma.They have worked in a variety of settings from community mental health, private practice, partial hospitalization programs, and the emergency department engaging in crisis work. Remi utilizes a collaborative and integrative approach, to working with clients and their families; while infusing humor and empathy into their work. They approach their work from a humanistic perspective, valuing the nature of the therapeutic relationship, and the lived experiences of their clients. Remi engages with clients using a psychodynamic, multiculturally competent, gender-affirming, and client-centered perspective. They believe that working from these perspectives assists the client in deepening their understanding of themselves, and their world around them. Clients often find themselves repeating old relational patterns without understanding their intention or purpose. Remi works to help clients make meaning of their past history, create and sustain meaningful connections, and to live more authentically in the present. Remi also has a passion or social justice work and strives for a better world for their clients.
