I am a combined Internal Medicine-Pediatrics primary care physician. I provide PrEP and gender-affirming care services. I understand that LGBTQ+ individuals face many disparities in healthcare. I strive to improve the care I provide for LGBTQ+ patients and their families and seek out opportunities to expand my training in this area. For example, I have completed the following certificate trainings: Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis for Providers and Patients course by Johns Hopkins University, Transgender Medicine Certificate by the American Academy of HIV Medicine, Transgender Medicine for General Medical Providers course by Icahn School of Medicine, and Transgender Medicine Course by the Utah AIDS Education and Training Center at the University of Utah School of Medicine.
As a generalist practicing in rural areas, I am also proactive about consulting with specialists in urban centers and reviewing guidelines (e.g. WPATH) to augment care plans with up to date standards as best I can to advocate for patients.
