I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, and a provider of affirming, trauma-informed psychotherapy to adults through telehealth. I have more than a decade of experience in mental health treatment and specialize in working with people who have often struggled to find care that feels genuinely affirming while also being equipped to address complex mental health concerns.
A significant part of my practice is devoted to LGBTQIA+ and transgender clients, including people exploring gender or sexual identity, navigating transition, coping with minority stress, family rejection or invalidation, relationship concerns, trauma, and the emotional impact of living in environments where their identities may not always be respected or safe. My approach is explicitly affirming: LGBTQIA+ identities are not treated as symptoms to be explained or corrected, and therapy does not presume that distress experienced by queer or transgender clients originates from their identity.
I am also sex-positive, kink-informed, and affirming of sexual and relationship diversity, including consensual non-monogamy and other nontraditional relationship structures. My practice welcomes current and former sex workers, including individuals whose experiences with sex work may intersect with identity, relationships, financial circumstances, trauma, or survival. I provide a nonjudgmental space where clients can explore these experiences on their own terms, without assuming that sex work, kink, sexual diversity, or nontraditional relationships are inherently pathological.
Being part of the LGBTQIA+ community informs my commitment to culturally responsive care, while I also recognize that shared community membership does not mean shared experiences. I approach each client as the expert on their own identity, relationships, values, and lived experience.
My clinical specialties include borderline personality disorder (BPD), PTSD and complex trauma, emotion dysregulation, dissociation, depression, anxiety, self-harm, suicidal ideation, identity development, and complex interpersonal and attachment patterns. I have extensive experience using Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and integrate trauma-focused, attachment-based, somatic, mindfulness, and other evidence-informed approaches according to each client’s needs.
I particularly enjoy working with clients whose experiences do not fit neatly into a single diagnostic, identity, or therapeutic box. My style is collaborative, direct, curious, and individualized. I want clients to be able to bring their whole lives into therapy—including the parts they may have learned to carefully edit when talking with healthcare providers—without first having to determine whether their therapist will understand or judge them.
I provide telehealth services to adults and maintain professional licensure or telehealth authorization in Arkansas, Kansas, Louisiana, Florida, and South Carolina.
