I am an LGBTQ+ affirming counselor committed to providing ethical, culturally responsive, and identity-affirming mental health care for LGBTQ+ clients. I work primarily with teens and young adults, and also support adults navigating anxiety, identity exploration, life transitions, relationships, and more. I have completed the 9-hour Rainbow Certificate through the Society for Sexual, Affectional, Intersex, and Gender Expansive Identities (SAIGE), a division of the American Counseling Association. This training focused on affirmative counseling practices, sexual orientation and gender identity, minority stress, intersectionality, and ethical considerations when working with LGBTQ+ individuals across the lifespan. It emphasized creating non-judgmental, celebratory, and affirming therapeutic spaces.
In my clinical work, I strive to offer a supportive environment where LGBTQ+ clients feel seen, respected, and empowered. I am attentive to the ways systemic oppression, stigma, and marginalization can impact mental health, particularly for LGBTQ+ teens and young adults, and I integrate this awareness into assessment, collaboration, and treatment planning.
My approach is humanistic and person-centered, grounded in authenticity, autonomy, and collaboration. I aim to support clients in building self-understanding, emotional resilience, and meaningful connection while honoring the full complexity of their identities and lived experiences.
