I am Dr. Carolyn Mallon, DNP, APRN, PMHNP, a pansexual and neurodivergent psychiatric nurse practitioner. I provide affirming, trauma-informed, and neurodivergent-friendly psychiatric care to LGBTQIA+ adults throughout New Hampshire via telehealth and in person. My work centers on helping individuals feel safe, respected, and empowered in all aspects of their mental health and identity.
My professional focus includes medication management, helping gender-diverse clients access gender-affirming care, and integrative mental health approaches for adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, autism, and identity-related stress. I use an informed-consent model and provide letters of medical necessity for gender-affirming treatments, including free access for uninsured clients through the Gender Affirming Letter Access Project (GALAP).
As a pansexual and neurodivergent clinician, I understand firsthand the importance of identity-affirming spaces and the need for culturally humble, intersectional mental health care. I approach each client relationship collaboratively, recognizing that people are the experts in their own lived experiences. My philosophy reflects my commitment to high-quality, respectful, and person-centered care for every individual.
I earned my Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from Rush University in Chicago, where my doctoral project focused on education to increase LGBTQIA+ cultural competence among mental health providers. I hold board certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) and have completed continuing education in gender-affirming care access, trauma-informed practice, neurodiversity-affirming models, and integrative mental health. I am a proud advocate for equitable, accessible, and stigma-free care for LGBTQIA+ and neurodivergent communities.
I strive to create a welcoming environment where clients can explore identity, healing, and growth with compassion and authenticity. Whether supporting gender exploration, neurodivergent self-understanding, or recovery from chronic stress and trauma, my goal is always the same: to help clients feel seen, safe, and empowered in their own stories.
