George Khamis, MA, LLP, works with children, teens, adults, couples, and families seeking help with emotional difficulties, neurodivergence, and relationships. As a Michigan Limited Licensed Psychologist and founder and Clinical Director of Michigan Wellbeing Therapy Clinic, he brings an integrative perspective to psychotherapy, diagnostic consultation, and individualized treatment planning. His particular interests include ADHD, autism, giftedness, and twice-exceptionality, especially when a person’s strengths and needs are difficult to understand through a single diagnosis.
Child, adolescent, and family work is a central part of his practice. George considers a young person’s emotions and behavior alongside their development, family relationships, and the expectations they encounter in daily life. He works with parents and caregivers to understand what a child may be experiencing, strengthen connection, and develop responses that fit the child’s needs. His neurodiversity-affirming approach gives attention to individual differences while addressing difficulties with attention, emotional regulation, relationships, and everyday demands.
With adults and couples, George explores how earlier experiences, family patterns, and ways of relating influence present concerns. His work can address anxiety, depression, trauma, identity, and periods of change, with room to consider questions of belonging, meaning, and connection. Therapy brings reflection on these experiences together with practical ways of responding to the situations clients face outside sessions.
George draws on relational and psychodynamic therapy, developmental and family systems perspectives, and cognitive and behavioral approaches. Somatic and polyvagal-informed work can help clients attend to how stress and emotion are experienced in the body. He also incorporates Jungian perspectives and, when relevant to a client’s own interests and values, spiritual exploration. Safe and Sound Polyvagal Music Therapy (SSP), a structured listening intervention using specially filtered music, is available when appropriate within an individualized care plan.
His background in comprehensive psychological assessment, particularly ADHD assessment with children and adolescents, informs his consultation and treatment-planning work. He helps individuals, families, and clinicians consider overlapping concerns, clarify questions about diagnosis, and develop recommendations that connect different aspects of care. Current testing and assessment services are discussed with the clinic before arranging an appointment.
Alongside his clinical work and leadership at Michigan Wellbeing, George is completing doctoral training in Clinical Psychology at the California Institute of Integral Studies. His doctoral work examines contemporary understandings of ADHD and their implications for assessment and integrative, neurodiversity-affirming care. His current professional credentials are MA, LLP.
