I’m Kaitlyn Ashner, RDN, LD, a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist known as The Divergent Dietitian. My mission is to make food easier, more fueling and more consistent for neurodivergent brains.
I specialize in ADHD, autism, ARFID, eating disorders and the POTS/EDS/MCAS trio. I also support clients with GI concerns and complex medical needs. I’m often the dietitian people find after hearing “there’s nothing more we can do.”
Before private practice, I was the only dietitian on a leading eating disorder treatment team at a VA hospital. That work taught me nutrition is about safety, energy and mental health, not numbers.
My approach has three steps:
1. Understand your sensory and executive-function needs.
2. Make sure your body is getting enough.
3. Build flexible, low-effort systems that last.
I’m dyslexic and neurodivergent myself, so I use visuals, analogies and simple plans instead of rigid meal plans. No calorie counting, no weight goals and no shame.
As a queer dietitian, I offer LGBTQ+ affirming, gender-affirming and trauma-informed care. You can come as you are.
I see clients by telehealth in 27 states through Nourish. Most clients pay $0 out of pocket with insurance, and new clients are usually seen within one to two weeks.
